Official opening and meet the artists on Sunday 5th May at 2pm Free Entry Exhibition continues until 2nd June. Gallery 294 is kicking off 2024 with the "Friends of the Gallery" exhibition starting on the 6th of Feb and finishing on the 1st of March. The opening will be on Saturday the 10th of February between the hours of 2-4pm. All welcome. With Christmas just around the corner, why not drop by the Gallery where we have your Christmas shop sorted with a fantastic selection of hand crafted Christmas gifts, cards and decorations. Each item has been made with care and flare to make your Christmas special. The current exhibition at Gallery 294 Corowa is 'From Soldier to Artist' by artist Sharon McKenzie who after being in the Regular Army for over twenty years, has retired and is now developing and honing her art skills.
She loves doing her Art and it is proving beneficial to her overall wellbeing, and she has found it a key ingredient in the healing of her own personal situation. Her art has many influences and should appeal to a very wide audience. Stuck for ideas for gifts coming into Christmas? Marg and Evelyn will be having a workshop on paper making at the gallery on Saturday the 28th of October. They will begin at 10:30am till fin. Payment is gold coin donation to the Gallery. BYO Lunch. Gallery294's front room has become an exhibition space for a collection of works from and depicting the small Island of Atauro. For those who don't know where this is, the Island is off the coast of Timor Leste, just north of Dili across the Straits of Wetar. The artist, TONI HARRIS recently visited this out of the way location through an organisation called "The Indigo Shire, Atauro Friendship Group" Monies raised from this exhibition will be donated to the group.
