In a spirit of optimism, Corowa’s Gallery 294 re-opened on 11 September. Just before our last lockdown and forced closure, gallery member Barbara Pritchard had opened her exhibition “Burnt Offerings”, a collection of works reflecting on the effects of bushfire at her Walwa property in 2020. The exhibition has been extended to 9 October so that visitors can see these thought provoking works. Rutherglen artist Kerrie Ware will then open her new exhibition “Altered Perceptions”, which will run until the end of November. The gallery is open 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 4pm. Entry is free at all times. What could be better than taking a little trip to Gallery 294 (Borders permitting) to see the new exhibition Burnt Offerings. Barbara Pritchard lives in Walwa in the Upper Murray area and was severely affected by the 2020 bushfires. This exhibition of works on paper was produced by Barbara in response to this experience. For those that can, get out, enjoy and support our local artists. Save the Date!!
